Questions and answers
What stables usually ask before they start with Canidary Equestrian. For a fuller tour, see everything Canidary Equestrian does.
Getting started
- Who is Canidary Equestrian for?
- Stables and riding schools. That means the riders who book riding times, the horse owners who keep horses there, the workers who look after them, and the people who run the place.
- How do people join our stable?
- Your stable has an invite you can share as a link, a QR code or a short code. A new person creates an account, then joins with the invite. Your stable can let people in right away or have its Admin approve each request.
- How do we start a stable?
- Create an account, then go to Start a stable and give your stable a name. You’re in as its Admin. Your invite and your calendar are ready straight away, and you set your opening hours and arenas for riding times.
- I’m also in a puppy raising club. Do I need another account?
- You don’t need a new password. On the sign-in page, use the Continue with your Canidary account button and enter the code sent to your email. Your Canidary Equestrian account is created from your Canidary account and linked to it, so you can switch between them without signing in again. The two accounts stay separate: changing or deleting one leaves the other as it is, except a new password, which signs out both and may change the other’s password too.
- Is there an app to download?
- There’s nothing to download. Canidary Equestrian works in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Add it to your home screen and it opens like any other app.
Riding times
- How do riders book a riding time?
- They open Riding times, pick a day and press Book on an open time in any arena, then choose their own horse or one of the stable’s school horses.
- Who sets lessons?
- The people your stable allows, such as an Instructor. A lesson has its arena, its time, its instructor and its riders, each with a horse. Lessons can repeat, and when one changes, its riders are told.
- Can riders cancel?
- Yes, up to the number of hours before the ride that your stable sets. Only the stable can cancel a lesson, and everyone booked in it is told.
- How do we keep track of who came?
- On Show-ups, mark each rider Showed up, Cancelled or No-show once the riding time has started. Every rider can see their own record.
The barn
- What does the feeding board do?
- It lists every horse’s breakfast, lunch and dinner from its plan, with turnout and anything to watch for. Whoever gives a feed ticks it off, so everyone can see what’s done.
- Who writes care notes?
- Workers and the people your stable chooses, on the horse’s own page. A horse owner can write about their own horses.
- Who reads care notes?
- A horse’s owner reads the notes about their horse and gets a notice for each new one. The people your stable chooses read every note.
- Can a horse belong to the stable itself?
- Yes. A horse without an owner is one of the stable’s school horses, and riders can book it.
Privacy
- Who can see my information?
- Other people in your stable see your name, photo and the horses you own. Your email address is seen only by the people who manage members.
- Can other stables see ours?
- No. Each stable is completely separate, and there’s no public list of stables. People find your stable only through your invite.
Notifications and help
- How will I hear about riding times and care notes?
- In the app’s inbox, and also by email or push notification if you’d like. You choose how you hear about each kind of update.
- How do I ask a question, report a problem or suggest an idea?
- Once you’re signed in, press the Settings gear at the top of any page, then Message us. You can add screenshots, and personal details in them are blurred before they’re sent. Replies arrive in your notifications.
