Help / Help: Your account
Your account
Your name, email, photo, password and sign-in security, which apply in every stable.
Change the language, or light and dark
The app starts in the same look as your device, light or dark. A different look you pick is kept on this device until your device switches to that look too; from then on the app follows the device again.
Signed in, the language is saved to your account and used on every device. The theme belongs to each device.
Modern is the usual app theme; Classic keeps bolder colors and outlines. The app theme you pick is kept on this device.
Before you sign in, the same Settings gear has the language, light or dark, and the app theme.
- Press the Settings gear at the top of the page.
- Under Language, pick English or Español. The page reloads in that language.
- Under Theme, pick Light or Dark.
- Under App theme, pick Modern or Classic.
Open Account settings
Your account is yours alone. No stable, not even its Admin, can change your account name, email, photo or password.
This account is for Canidary Equestrian only. Canidary has separate accounts, even for the same email, so nothing you change here changes an account there, unless the two are linked and you change your password.
Account settings is in sections: Personal info, Sign-in and security, Linked account and Deactivate account. Press a section to open it.
- Press the Settings gear at the top of the page, then Account settings.
- On Your stables, you can also press Account settings on the Account card.
Change your name or email
Your email changes only when you enter the code, so nobody can use an address they can’t read. Until then you sign in with your old email, and your old address gets an email saying a change was asked for. To keep your old email, press Cancel the change.
Your email is how you sign in, and where sign-in codes and password reset links go. An address another account here uses can’t be taken. You get a notification in your account’s inbox whenever your details change.
If Your details says your email isn’t confirmed yet, press Send a code, then type the code from the email and press Confirm. Confirm my email at the top of any page opens it with the code already sent.
Until your email is confirmed, everything else works as usual, but joining a stable, linking accounts, and changing your password, two-factor authentication or devices wait for it.
- In Account settings, press Personal info.
- Under Your details, press your name, type the new one, and press Enter.
- Under Your details, press your email address, type the new one, and press Enter.
- Type your password and press Save. A 6-digit code is sent to the new address.
- Under Your details, type the code in Code from the email and press Confirm.
Change your account photo
Your stables show this photo unless you set a different one in a stable’s profile.
- Press the pencil on your photo.
- Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image of 5 MB or less.
- Move and zoom the photo in the frame, then press Use photo.
See your profile in each stable
A name or photo set in a stable stays in that stable.
- In Account settings, press Personal info.
- Look under Your stable profiles. Each row says whether that stable uses its own name and photo for you, or your account’s.
- On a stable’s row, press the button that says Edit in and the stable’s name. Change your profile there.
Change your password
Changing your password signs you out on every device, and signs out your linked account if you have one. Sign in again with the new password.
It also removes every device that unlocks your account, and every device that unlocks your linked account. Each device can save a new passkey when you next sign in on it with your password.
If your linked account has the same password, it gets the new one too.
- In Account settings, press Sign-in and security, then Change password.
- Type your Current password, then the New password twice. It needs at least 12 characters.
- Press Change password, then Change password again to confirm.
- If two-factor authentication is on, type the 6-digit code from the email in Code from the email, and press Change password once more.
Turn on two-factor authentication
With two-factor authentication on, signing in with your password also asks for a 6-digit code emailed to you. Signing in with a passkey skips the code, since the device’s own lock already proves it is you.
In Account settings, press Sign-in and security. Two-factor authentication says On or Off beside its name. Press Turn on to start it. To stop it, press Turn off, type your password and press Turn off.
Remove a device that unlocks your account
When you sign in on a phone or computer with a PIN, face or fingerprint lock, it can save a passkey, so next time the device unlocks your account without your password. A removed device can no longer sign in with its passkey, but it can still sign in with your password. A passkey works only on the site where it was saved.
Changing or resetting your password removes every device. Each device can save a new passkey when you next sign in on it with your password.
- In Account settings, press Sign-in and security.
- Find the device under Devices that unlock your account. Each shows when it was added and last used.
- Press its Remove button, then Remove to confirm.
Link your Canidary account
Linked accounts let you switch between Canidary and Canidary Equestrian without signing in again. Changes you make to one account do not change the other. Only a new password reaches both: it signs out both accounts and may change the other’s password too.
If this email also has a Canidary account, Linked account says so and asks whether to link it to this one.
Linking needs a code sent to your email, so nobody else can link your accounts. If the two accounts use different emails, each one gets a code.
If your linked account has a different name or photo, Linked account offers to copy them to this account. Only this account changes.
If your linked account is deactivated, Linked account says so and offers only Unlink.
Finish in the browser you started in. The page that brings you back works only there.
- In Account settings, press Linked account, then Link your Canidary account, or Link my accounts.
- On Canidary, sign in to the account you want to link if you are asked to.
- Press Link the accounts.
- Back here, type the code sent to your email and press Link my accounts.
- To unlink them, press Unlink under Linked account, then Unlink again.
Switch to Canidary
You arrive signed in to your linked Canidary account, with no password to type.
On any page, the Settings gear at the top has Switch to Canidary too.
It shows once your accounts are linked.
- Open Account settings and press Linked account.
- Under Linked account, press Switch to Canidary.
Deactivate your account
You are signed out and can no longer sign in. Each of your stables shows that you left. Your riding times, care notes and other records stay in the stables’ history.
Your Canidary account, if you have one, stays as it is.
- In Account settings, press Deactivate account, then Deactivate my account.
- Choose why you are leaving and add a note if you want to. Only Canidary reads them, never your stable.
- Type your email and your password. The browser does not fill them in for you.
- Press Deactivate my account again to finish.
