Notifications
Read what happens in your stable and your account, and choose how you hear about it.
Read your stable’s notifications
Each stable has its own inbox. A notification from one stable never shows in another stable.
A long notification, such as an app update, shows only a line or two. Press Open to read all of it on its own page.
An app update’s own page ends with Have any questions? Message us. Press Message us to ask about the update.
- Press the bell at the top of the page to see the newest notifications.
- Press All notifications to open the whole inbox.
- Press Open on a notification to go to what it is about: a horse’s page, Riding times, an event or Announcements. Opening it marks it as read.
- Press Mark as read or Mark as unread on one notification, or Mark all as read at the top.
- Type in Search to find a notification by its subject or kind. Use Sort by to put Unread first.
Answer an invitation or a question
A stable’s invitation shows Join, Decline and Don’t let this stable invite me again. Join adds you to the stable at once. Joining shows the stable your name and photo, and its Admin your email address.
Don’t let this stable invite me again also declines the invitation. That stable can’t invite you again until you press Allow again under Stable invitations in Notification settings.
A poll, and a question about how satisfied you were with an answer to your message, are answered on the notification itself.
Read your account’s notifications
Notices about you rather than about a stable go to your account’s inbox: changes to your password, email and sign-in, invitations to a stable, answers to your join requests, answers to your messages, and news that a stable removed you or was deleted.
- Inside a stable, press the Your stables button, the four squares at the top left. A number on it means news about your stables, such as an invitation or an answer to your join request.
- On the Your stables page, press the bell, then All notifications.
- In your stable’s inbox, you can also press Your account’s inbox.
Choose what reaches you
The rows under Your account apply in every stable: Quick tips, App updates, Polls and Stable invitations. Account and security notices can’t be turned off.
- Press the Settings gear at the top of the page, then Notification settings. The inbox has a Notification settings button too.
- Under Your stables, open a stable to see its settings. A change applies in that stable only.
- On each row, tick or untick In-app, Email and Push notifications. Each change saves at once.
What each stable setting covers
Care notes about my horses: someone writes a care note about one of your horses. My riding times: a lesson is set for you, or one of your riding times is cancelled.
Reminders: an hour before your events, plus RSVP requests, event time changes, and a place opening for you on an event’s waiting list. Announcements: a new announcement from the stable. New members and horses: a new horse at the stable, and for Admin, a new member.
Everyone in the stable sees these five rows. People who hold a position also see Role changes: someone adds, changes or removes a role, or changes who holds one. A change to your own role can’t be turned off.
Get push notifications on this device
Push is turned on separately on each device. If This device doesn’t show, this browser can’t receive push notifications. If the browser blocks notifications for the app, allow them in the browser’s settings.
- Open Notification settings on the phone or computer you want them on.
- Under This device, press Turn on push notifications on this device, and allow notifications when the browser asks.
- On an iPhone, press Add to Home Screen first and follow the steps, then open the app from the Home Screen.
- Tick Push notifications on each row you want pushed to you.
Mute stables you join later
Every stable you join from then on starts with every box unticked. Tick what you want in that stable. A stable you start yourself never starts muted, and a stable you join again keeps the settings you left it with.
- Open Notification settings.
- Under Your account, tick Mute new stables.
